About the Event

The 2023 AGA/Goethe-Institut Fellowship will be awarded at this event. Refreshments will be provided.

About the AGA/Goethe-Institut Fellowship - an annual award which supports young Australians undertake a research project in Germany and report on their work on returning to Australia. Its aim is to foster closer relationships between Australia and Germany and assist with the development of future leaders in our community. The Fellowship is made available by the Australian German Association with the Goethe-Institut includes a 4-week language course at one of the 12 Goethe-Instituts in Germany. The Fellowship also includes a grant of $8,000 towards a study tour in Germany (typically at least 4 weeks), visiting companies/institutions in the special interest field of the Awardee. Reimbursement of a return economy airfare from Australia to Germany is also included.

About the Australian German Association - the oldest Australian-based business organisation in the Australian-German business community. Its members were originally senior people in business, education, science and the arts, but with the establishment of the German - Australian Chamber and the advent of economic globalisation and the internet, the organisation now has a sole focus on the Fellowship which is embodies the AGA's central object of strengthening ties between Australia and Germany. The AGA remains a forum for information exchange through personal contact.

About the Goethe-Institut - Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide. Operating in locations all over the world, Goethe-Institut promotes the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. The Goethe-Institut is in Melbourne and Sydney and offers first class German courses at the personal and business level.
