While the AGA’s main focus is business, it also has an interest in cultural and educational matters. One feature is the annual Fellowship which supports a young Australian to visit Germany to study the language and pursue special interests.
The Fellowship is made available jointly by the Australian German Association and the Goethe-Institut, offering young Australians a 12-week stay in Germany. This comprises an 8-week language course at a Goethe-Institut, as well as a grant of A$6,000 towards a 4-week study tour in Germany, visiting companies/institutions in the special interest field of the Awardee. Reimbursement of a return economy airfare, up to the value of AU$2,500 is available. The scholarship is advertised between February and May each year.
